Ah the year that started it all Anime Central 2003. It was a year of the original ACen Guys. After about a month of begging me to go, my friend Eric finally convinced me to attend and anime convention. I figured the convention would have its hallways filled with obese nerds playing dungeons and dragons and bitching about how much Dragonball Z sucked. I was wrong, the convention wasn't filled will all the obsessed fan boys I was expecting, it was filled with people who just enjoyed anime just like myself. I had been into anime for years I am ashamed to say that the great anime rush of '99 is what got me full-fledged into the medium. I had been into the art since I was a kid and that was my true reason for becoming an anime fan. So I felt I had no place among the "true" anime fans. Nonetheless I attended with my 5 friends (well 4 friends and 1 enemy). I had no idea by the end of the convention that I would look back on it so fondly. Throughout the weekend we all took pictures assuming nothing would become of them. That was until I got online looking for pictures of my shitty cosplay that year. I couldn't find a picture of me anywhere on the net and I knew that I had at least 10 pictures taken of me. So I started bitching to people about not posting up all there pictures, soon realizing I was being a total hypocrite. I was sitting on a treasure trove of 125 pictures that no one was to see except us. So I decided shortly after the convention ended that I would post them up on a website. The website became called ACen Adventures, a site to share our experiences at Anime Central with the rest of the world. That just left one question what would we call ourselves... we eventually settled on the ACen Guys a name that I hated at the time but has since grown on me. We posted up the pictures and there seemed to be something missing. There were a whole bunch of random pictures that had a story but the public didn't know about. So thus the comments were born. We became the first ACen fan site specifically for ACen and one of a few who actually took the time to comment on what we did. So in 2003 the ACen Guys were born to dispense their wisdom, anger, and horniness to the world. It was a tradition that would continue for many a year, so sit back and relax and enjoy the ACen Guys very first ACen Adventure.
